A large portion of the roof fell off at the Lucky Lady Casino in Gardena, CA on Monday morning, July 15, 2019. The casino was located at Rosecrans Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, who was inside the building at the time was evacuated at around 10 am. 11 people were injured from the incident. 7 people were taken to a hospital. All injuries were minor. Only 1 woman sustained moderate injuries from the incident due to a pre-existing condition. According to fire officials, the damage would have been become worse if the roof collapsed in a more crowded area of the said casino. The cause of the roof’s collapse was not known. According to fire officials, the building also had a significant water leak.
