Fatal crash on I-5 | San Diego Injury Accident Lawyer Blog
SAN DIEGO, CA – A woman from Tijuana was killed as the result of a multi-vehicle rear-end collision along I-5 last Wednesday evening.
According to Fox 5 San Diego, the incident occurred in the southbound lanes of I-5 near San Ysidro when 22-year-old Damariz Rosas failed to notice stopped or slowed traffic in front of her and collided with the rear of another vehicle.
Footage from the scene depicts firefighters working to free the woman from her vehicle for some time following the crash. Rosas was then transported to UCSD Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.
An officer with the San Diego Police Department sustained minor injuries in the wreck. It is unclear whether they were taken to the hospital for treatment.
