EL CAJON, CA – One person died after a car and a cable truck collided in El Cajon yesterday afternoon, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The collision occurred on I-8, near Greenfield Drive, at about 4:30 p.m., when a sedan and a Cox Communications truck collided with each other.

One person who has yet to be publicly identified was killed as a result.

The truck driver was not reported as injured.

2 people taken to hospital after El Cajon house fire, 8 displaced

EL CAJON, CA – Two people were hospitalized after a house fire that displaced eight people and destroyed a building in El Cajon early this morning, according to NBC San Diego.

The two-alarm fire was reported at about 3:20 a.m. in the 1700 block of Hacienda Drive.

One of the victims, an elderly man, was sent to the hospital with mild injuries, according to the report. Another person was sent as well, for the treatment of smoke inhalation injuries.

The house was destroyed in the blaze, and a total of eight people and a dog have been displaced as a result.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire at this time.

Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicles in El Cajon

EL CAJON, CA – A person died Sunday morning after being hit by multiple vehicles on the Kumeyaay Highway in El Cajon, according to NBC San Diego.

The incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 8, also known as the Kumeyaay Highway, near Mollison Avenue, after a pedestrian was hit by at least two vehicles, possibly a sedan with damage to the side of the vehicle.

Motorcyclist seriously injured in El Cajon crash incorrectly said to be a DUI

EL CAJON, CA – A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a crash Friday morning in El Cajon that police initially and incorrectly reported involved alcohol.

According to NBC San Diego, the accident occurred in the 600 block of Jamacha Boulevard at about 10:15 a.m.

The driver of a silver Toyota Camry attempted to make a turn in front of a motorcyclist, who was unable to avoid colliding with the car. The motorcyclist, whose identity has not yet been released, was seriously injured and taken to the hospital for medical care.

Police initially reported that the driver of the Camry was under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred, though officials have now said that this was not the case.

No charges have been filed at this time.
