Driver bails from car before it crashes into El Cajon store

SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver escaped serious injuring by jumping from his car before it crashed in a Petco in El Cajon on Thursday night.

According to 10 News San Diego, the man discovered that his brakes weren’t working while driving in the 200 block of North 2nd Street at about 10 p.m. The man pulled his malfunctioning truck into the parking lot of a strip mall, opening the door, and jumped out. The truck damaged the front doors of the store broke some windows.

The driver was uninjured and no one else was injured in the crash.

The building inspector was called to evaluate the damage to the pet store.

Firefighters responded to pedestrian accident in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – El Cajon firefighters responded to an accident scene after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in a residential area on Friday afternoon.

According to CHP, a vehicle struck the pedestrian near the intersection of Fuerte Drive and Grandview Drive at about 1:35 p.m.

Motorcyclist airlifted from SR 94 crash scene

SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorcyclist was airlifted after a collision on State Route 94 in El Cajon on Friday morning, according to CHP.

The motorcyclist crashed with another vehicle in the eastbound lanes of the 18500 block of State Route 94 just before 11:30 a.m. He was ejected in the crash and responders found him lying in the lanes.

The victim was airlifted to Sharp Memorial Hospital with major injuries. An update on the condition or the identity of the victim has not been released.

Driver flees after causing collision in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver fled the scene after causing a two-vehicle accident on State Route 94 in El Cajon on Wednesday morning, according to CHP.

A grey Lexus was driving eastbound near Sweetwater Springs Boulevard when it struck a tan sedan and a white SUV at about 11:41 a.m. The tan sedan then ran into the center divide and came to rest near the white SUV on the left-hand side of the road. The Lexus fled the scene.
