Vehicle hits utility pole in rollover crash in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to CHP, a rollover accident involving a utility pole was reported on Route 79 in El Cajon on Tuesday afternoon.

One vehicle was involved in the crash in the 4900 block of the highway at about 2:30 p.m. The vehicle went off the road, hit a telephone pole, and overturned in a ditch.

The roadway was blocked by the firefighters while they worked at the scene.

At least one person reported minor injuries.

Minor injuries reported after El Cajon intersection crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – Minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident at an El Cajon intersection on Tuesday morning, according to CHP.

The accident happened near the corner of Woodside Avenue and Prospect Avenue at about 6:20 a.m. Two vehicles were involved in the crash that also hit a telephone pole.

At least one person reported minor injuries.

The power company was contacted to come and check the integrity of the pole after it was struck.

At least one person dead after single-car El Cajon accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person is dead after a single-vehicle accident El Cajon on Wednesday afternoon, according to the CHP incident log.

The accident happened in the in the 1600 block of Palm Canyon Drive at about 2:30 p.m.

At least one person was pronounced dead after the crash.

Ambulance responds to two-car crash in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – An ambulance responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident at an intersection in El Cajon in the evening on Wednesday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a good Samaritan called 911 after hearing a traffic collision at the corner of Jamacha Road and Brabham Street at about 6:45 p.m. A BMW was left blocking Jamacha Road while the other car was turned the wrong way and ended up on the shoulder lane.

An ambulance responded to assess the involved parties for injuries.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Firefighters extricate one trapped by El Cajon accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – Firefighters were on their way to the scene of a car accident where one victim was trapped in El Cajon on Tuesday afternoon.

According to CHP, a grey Volkswagen Jetta crashed with a white Ford Escape near the intersection of San Vicente Road and Gunn State Road at about 4:15 p.m.

Firefighters were quickly en route to the accident scene where one person was trapped inside a vehicle. An ambulance also responded to assess the trapped victim and any other involved parties. Injuries have not been confirmed.

El Cajon hit-and-run leaves driver injured

SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver fled on foot from a hit-and-run accident in El Cajon that left another driver injured on Thursday afternoon.

According to CHP, a dark grey Ford pickup truck crashed into a tan Chevrolet Malibu on the offramp from northbound SR-125 to Jamacha Road at about 1:20 p.m. The driver of the pickup truck jumped out and fled on foot.

The sedan began to catch fire.

The driver of the sedan was also injured in the accident. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

Firefighters knocked back the fire and had the vehicles towed from the scene.

Road closed after crash downs El Cajon electrical pole

SAN DIEGO, CA – A road was closed after a single-vehicle accident knocked down an electrical pole near an El Cajon intersection on Friday morning.

According to CHP, the accident happened near the corner of North 2nd Street and Pepper Drive at about 6:35 a.m. An SUV struck a pole and landed on the sidewalk, completely knocking the pole down across the road.

Authorities closed down the northbound 2nd Street lanes and one southbound lane.

The driver was able to exit the vehicle and an ambulance responded to treat them for minor injuries.

No other vehicles were involved.

The electrical company was also contacted to handle the wires and repairs.

One hospitalized after two-car crash on Campo Road

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident on Campo Road in El Cajon on Wednesday afternoon.

According to CHP, the driver of a black Toyota Corolla and the driver of a tan Toyota Prius collided in the 9700 block of Campo Road at about 12:50 p.m. The accident occurred in the street near a 7-11 store, where the drivers moved their vehicles after the crash.

Medics transported one person to an area hospital. Their injuries not considered life-threatening.

Small child injured in two-vehicle accident in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – A two-vehicle accident on State Route 79 in El Cajon left a small child with injuries on Tuesday morning, according to CHP.

A beige Ford F-150 pickup truck crashed with a Toyota Camry on SR-79 near San Felipe Road just before 8 a.m. The crash blocked the intersection.

A young child in one of the vehicles was injured in the crash. Thankfully, all injuries were considered minor.

Authorities began directing traffic through the scene, one way at a time. The area remained partially closed until about 9:15 a.m.

Minor injuries reported after multi-vehicle accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – Minor injuries were reported after a multi-vehicle accident on State Route 67 in El Cajon on Thursday afternoon, according to CHP.

An accident involving three or four vehicles was reported on southbound SR-67 near Greenfield Drive at about 5 p.m.

Thankfully, all injuries resulting from the crash were minor.

However, police were investigating one man for possible intoxication after suspicious behavior at the scene.
