One person sustained moderate injuries in a serious DUI car crash that occurred on February 23, 2012, around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of East California and North Santa Fe avenues. According to San Diego County sheriff’s Sgt. Glen Twyman, 25-year-old Robert Jarquin rear-ended the vehicle while driving under the influence and continued on his way until he slammed into a light pole.
The motorist in the vehicle that was rear-ended by Jarquin’s vehicle complained of pain and was immediately transported to Tri-City Medical Center for treatment. Jarquin was later booked into the Vista jail on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving under the influence. Read the rest »
A woman faces DUI charges after crashing her car into at least 5 vehicles on Hotel Circle in Mission Valley early Monday morning.
The drunk driver allegedly hit the first car on eastbound I-8 near Sunset Cliffs, but fled the scene. She crashed into a second vehicle while exiting onto Taylor Street. However, the driver tailed her and phoned the police. The woman was eventually stopped after a head-on collision. Luckily, a passerby stepped in before she could drive away from the accident again. One man suffered serious injuries in a car accident that occurred on December 26, 2011, around 1:45 a.m. on I-5 just north of state Route 905 (SR-905). According to California Highway Patrol officer Jesse Udovich, the victim had a flat tire and was waiting for assistance when he was struck by an alleged drunk driver.
The drunk driver Raul Hernandez was traveling northbound when his vehicle struck a Chevrolet Malibu parked on the right shoulder. The collision made the Malibu overturn several times. The victim had to crawl out of the wreck and suffered a cut on his head. Read the rest »
73-year-old Celia Torres and her 16-year-old grandson David Gonzalez were killed in a tragic DUI car accident that occurred on December 9, 2011, around 5:45 p.m. on state Route 125 (SR-125) in La Mesa just south of Interstate 8 (I-8). According to California Highway Patrol, a suspected drunken driver struck the Nissan Pathfinder, causing it to burst into flames and leave both the victims trapped inside. According to a passerby Jeff Lieres, a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 39-year-old Justin Foulds swiped a car and then struck the Pathfinder, causing a four-car crash. Two adults and two children, a 10-year-old and a 6-year-old, suffered serious injuries in a three-vehicle crash that occurred on December 4, 2011, around 10 a.m. on eastbound side of the freeway near Waring Road on Interstate 8 (I-8). According to the California Highway Patrol, a Land Rover heading eastbound at about 80 to 90mph clipped a red car, then rear-ended a Lexus SUV, causing it to spin out and go over the center divider of the freeway.
The impact of the collision made the SUV fall 120 to 150 feet down an embankment. Both the adults in the car were immediately transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital and the two kids were taken to Rady Children’s Hospital to receive medical treatment. Read the rest »
A possible DUI car accident left two passengers injured on November 12‚ 2011‚ around 4:52 a.m. at Aero Drive and Santo Road. According to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali‚ three men were heading westbound on Aero Drive‚ when the driver lost control. As a result‚ the car drifted north across traffic lanes and smashed into a concrete wall near Santo Road.
The car driver fled from the accident scene after causing the crash‚ leaving his two injured passengers. One suffered minor injuries while the other passenger was seriously injured. Both were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officers believe that alcohol may have been a factor. The accident is still under investigation. Read the rest »
A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old Riverside girl were struck and injured in a serious DUI car accident that occurred on October 15‚ 2011‚ around 9:20 p.m. on Lake Gregory Drive in Crestline. According to Highway Patrol’s Arrowhead office‚ the teens were walking across the street when they were hit by 68-year-old Raye G. Bayorgeon of Lake Arrowhead.
Bayorgeon was traveling south in a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser when she allowed the car to drift onto the asphalt shoulder just south of Olten Drive‚ where she struck the teenagers. The injured girl suffered major injuries and was immediately airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The boy was treated at the accident scene for minor injuries. Read the rest »
Three men and two kids suffered serious injuries in a DUI accident that occurred on October 8‚ 2011‚ around 5:32 a.m. on Interstate 15 (I-15)‚ 90 minutes south of Hidden Valley Parkway. According to Officer Sylvia Vargas‚ 38-year-old Adam Anthony Doyle was driving a black 2012 Chevy Silverado pickup truck at more than 100 mph when it broadsided a car occupied by 45-year-old Eric Lynch and 41-year-old Scott Fendley of Wildomar.&
Doyle‚ along with two boys of ages 4 and 7 in his vehicle‚ had to be cut from the pick-up and treated for major injuries. Doyle was later arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. From the available information‚ it is clear that Doyle’s negligent driving and irresponsible actions led to this serious car wreck. Wrestling legend Kurt Angle‚ who was arrested in early September for drunk driving‚ will not be prosecuted for the violation after a further review. The police report showed that Angle’s blood alcohol level measured in at .06 on the night he was arrested‚ which is under Virginia’s legal limit of .08.
In September‚ the wrestling champ was pulled over for swerving between lanes on I-66 in Warren County. Angle was taken to Warren County Jail for driving while intoxicated and later posted his $2,000 bond. Read the rest »
Jess Jacinto Dagdayan‚ 58‚ was killed in a fatal Oceanside auto accident that occurred on I-5 in Oceanside on October 4‚ 2010‚ around 6:20 a.m. According to the California Highway Patrol‚ Dagdayan’s BMW started spinning out of control‚ entered into southbound I-5‚ and struck a sports utility vehicle.
California Highway Patrol Captain Deb Schroder cited rain slick roads as a probable reason of this car accident that closed two lanes of I-5 for more than two hours. The San Diego Medical Examiner’s office pronounced Dagdayan dead at the accident scene. Dagdayan succumbed to the multiple blunt injuries he sustained in this car accident. Read the rest »
