Drunk driver causes two-vehicle crash on I-215

SAN DIEGO, CA – A two-vehicle traffic collision was reported on Interstate 215 in Temecula on Wednesday night, according to CHP.

The male driver of an SUV had been drinking before he crashed into a black Honda sedan in the northbound lanes near Newport Road at about 5:15 p.m.

The driver of the SUV was reportedly falling asleep in his vehicle even while it was still blocking the slow lane of the freeway after the crash.

An ambulance was called to the scene but further details have not become available.

Minor injuries reported after truck strikes tree in Temecula

SAN DIEGO, CA – Minor injuries were reported after a vehicle struck a tree in on a side street in Temecula late on Monday morning, according to CHP.

A white Toyota Tacoma struck a wall and a tree in the 47100 block of Butterfield State Road at about 11:30 a.m. The accident was blocking the entrance to Antria Park.

At least one person sustained minor injuries in the collision. It was suspected that the driver might have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Drunk driver injured in rollover crash in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – Minor injuries were reported after a late-night drunk-driving related rollover crash in Oceanside on Monday, according to CHP.

The drunk driver overturned his vehicle on State Route 76 near Rice Canyon Road at about 11:11 p.m. The car was in the roadway, creating a hazard for other drivers after the crash.

When emergency workers arrived on the scene they transported the unidentified driver to Palomar Hospital. The victim was treated for minor injuries. It was also determined that they were under the influence at the time of the crash.

The drunk driver’s vehicle was the only car involved in the accident.

Scooter rider suffers life-threatening injuries in collision with SUV

SAN DIEGO, CA – An intoxicated man riding a scooter was struck by an SUV near Liberty Station on Sunday, according to the Times of San Diego.

The 36-year-old was riding an electric scooter on Byron Street near Rosencrans Street at about 10:40 p.m. He drove through a red light and crashed into a Volvo SUV.

The man was transported from the scene to a local hospital with a brain bleed and other life-threatening injuries.

The 20-year-old female driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.

The scooter’s rider was determined to be intoxicated at the time of the accident.
