7 visitors sustained minor injuries after a U.S. Navy F/A-18 E Super Hornet jet crashed in Death Valley National Park, CA on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2019. The jet reportedly crashed near Father Crowley Vista Point. The condition of the pilot of the jet was not known. The jet reportedly crashed around 10 am near an area commonly known as the Star Wars Canyon. The canyon is near the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. The pilot has reportedly remained missing. Search and rescue teams were searching for the pilot.
