Two Kids hit by Car in City Heights
Two children, ages 8 and 6, suffered serious injuries in a San Diego car crash that occurred on December 26, 2011, at Van Dyke Avenue near El Cajon Boulevard. According to California Highway Patrol, the children were struck when a Nissan Maxima they were exiting unexpectedly lurched in reverse. The older boy suffered a broken arm and the younger one suffered head injuries.
The 42-year-old driver who was parking the car that the boys were exiting accidentally stepped on the gas while it was in reverse. Read the rest »
Child and Aunt Injured in City Heights Pedestrian Accident
A six-year-old girl and her aunt were struck and injured in a serious car accident that occurred on October 10‚ 2011‚ around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Menlo Avenue and University Avenue in City Heights. According to San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division‚ the girl and her aunt were crossing the street when they were hit by a woman driving a grey Honda Accord.
The girl sustained serious head injuries and was immediately transported to Rady Children’s Hospital. The female pedestrian was also seriously injured and was taken to Sharp Memorial hospital for her minor injuries. Read the rest »
Car Crashes into Bus Bench‚ Killing Mother and Injuring Boyfriend in City Heights
25-year-old Vanessa Shane was killed on June 4‚ 2011‚ after a car plowed into them in City Heights around 7:55 p.m. According to San Diego police Officer David Stafford‚ Shane‚ her 4-year-old son Eli‚ and boyfriend David were sitting in a City Heights bus stop when 71-year-old San Diego resident Jean Chizer-Williams drove his car into them
Shane and her boyfriend David were immediately transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment‚ where she was later pronounced dead. David was treated for internal injuries and fractures to his feet and legs. Eli was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital and suffered multiple injuries‚ including a broken arm. Read the rest »
