Driver having medical episode crashes on I-5 in Carlsbad
SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver crashed into the center divide after having a seizure while on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad on Friday morning.
According to CHP, a black Infiniti sedan was northbound on I-5. The driver appeared to lose control and the vehicle veered from left to right then back into the center divide near the exit for Carlsbad Village at about 7:05 a.m.
When officials arrived, they found the driver was locked inside the vehicle with the tinted windows up.
The driver was eventually extricated from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital. It was determined that that the accident happened because the driver had a seizure. Thankfully, he was not severely injured.
A dog was also inside the car and officials decided to take the animal to the owner’s house.

Lanes blocked after multi-vehicle crash Carlsbad
SAN DIEGO, CA – Two lanes blocked lanes backed up traffic after multiple vehicles crashed on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad on Wednesday morning.
According to Caltrans San Diego, the left two lanes were blocked on northbound I-5 at Cannon Road at about 9 a.m. after several vehicles crashed.
Traffic backed up past Palomar Airport Road until the roadway reopened at about 9:30 p.m.
The condition of the parties involved in the crash remains unclear. We will update this story as more information develops.

Woman seriously injured when vehicle rolls in Carlsbad
SAN DIEGO, CA – A woman was transported to the hospital with serious injuries after her vehicle overturned on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad on Thursday morning.
According to Fox News San Diego, the woman was driving southbound on I-5 when she crashed near Cannon Road at about 8:30 a.m. Her car rolled all the way over, landed back on its wheels, then slammed in the guardrail.
The woman was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by the authorities, who then transported her to a local hospital.

One person hospitalized after crash in Carlsbad
SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash that happened on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad on Wednesday afternoon.
According to CHP, the involved vehicles were a red Chevrolet Equinox, a white Hyundai Elantra, and a Toyota RAV-4. They collided on I-5 south near Carlsbad Village Drive at about 3:30 p.m.
Parties from three of the vehicles reported minor injuries and one person was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The scene was cleared and the area reopened about 45 minutes after the crash.

One injured in truck versus car accident in Carlsbad
SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was injured in a truck-versus car-accident on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad on Monday morning, according to CHP.
The driver of an Albertson’s tractor-trailer called 911 after he was rear-ended on I-5 South at the Carlsbad Village Drive on-ramp. The collision left the blue BMW which hit the truck turned the wrong way on the on-ramp.
The driver of the BMW remained on the scene and was able to exit his vehicle.
One person reported minor injuries in the accident and it is unclear whether this was the truck driver or the BMW driver.

Injury reported following Carlsbad hit-and-run
SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person was injured after a hit-and-run accident in Carlsbad on Tuesday morning.
According to CHP, the collision was reported at about 6:30 a.m. when an unspecified vehicle collided with a grey Ford Flex near the intersection of Palomar Airport Road and Paseo Del Norte.
It is unclear whether there was more than one occupant in the Ford. However, it has been confirmed that at least one person was injured.
The at-fault driver fled the scene. A description of the suspect’s vehicle was not mentioned in the report.

Multi-vehicle collision blocks lanes on I-5
SAN DEIGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were forced to shut down at least one lane along I-5 following a multi-vehicle collision Monday afternoon.
According to Caltrans, the accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. along I-5 just north of the exit to La Costa Avenue.

No information with regard to any injuries sustained in the wreck has been released at this time. However, the late was blocked for about a half-hour while the crash was investigated and cleared from the roadway.
