Rollover crash partially closes I-15 overnight

SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle crashed and overturned in a single-car crash on Interstate 5 on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on I-15 south near I-805 at about 2:33 a.m. A black car crashed, overturned, and landed upside off the road and spread debris over the roadway.

An ambulance was called to the accident scene. At least some of the occupants were able to exit the vehicle and it unclear whether any persons needed treatment from the medics.

The road was partially closed for just over an hour while the scene was cleared.

Vehicle retrieved off road after crash in Murrieta

SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle went off the roadway and down an embankment in Murrieta on Tuesday morning, according to a report from CHP.

The crash happened on Clinton Keith Road before the intersection with Tenaja Road and near a fire station in the area at about 7:45 a.m.

Units were able to quickly respond to the scene and found the vehicle overturned down the hill. A tow truck with 100 feet of cable was called to retrieve the vehicle.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.

One person hospitalized after weekend rollover crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was transported to a local hospital after a rollover accident and crash with a tree on Interstate 5 on Sunday afternoon.

According to CHP, a white Pontiac sedan went off the right side of I-5 south near Harbor Drive at about 1:30 p.m. The car overturned, landing on its roof, and crashed into a tree just off the righthand side.

Only one vehicle was involved in the crash.

One person was taken to an area hospital for undisclosed injuries.

Crash into El Cajon home maybe connected to shoplifting

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities were investigating the possible connection between a violent shoplifting incident and a crash in El Cajon on Sunday.

According to CHP, a dark blue car with bumper stickers on it crashed into a house near the corner of Rio Verde Driver and Pappas Drive at about 3:10 p.m. The driver left the scene but eventually returned and spoke to the home residents.

Meanwhile, authorities were comparing the description of the vehicle with the getaway car in an incident in Warner Springs. There a store clerk had been hit by one by a suspect who then stole cigars and took off in a vehicle, closely matching the vehicle in the El Cajon accident, with three other people.

The possible connection between the incident has not been confirmed.

Telephone pole toppled by crash into Fallbrook

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to CHP, a telephone pole toppled onto an SUV after a crash near a Fallbrook intersection on Sunday afternoon.

A white Ford Explorer crashed into a telephone pole near the intersection of South Mission Road and Rocky Crest Road at about 4 p.m.

The concrete pole was toppled by the impact and come down onto the SUV and across the road.

An ambulance responded to the scene, but information about the involved parties has not yet been released.

One person injured when car drives off road in Pala

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was injured when their car went off a state highway in a remote area of San Diego County on Saturday night.

According to CHP, a Nissan 370Z crashed and went off of SR-76 near Bodie Boulevard in Pala at about 10:30 p.m.

The vehicle was so far over the side of the road that the first tow truck was canceled. Responders waited until daylight on Sunday to recall a tow truck to retrieve the vehicle from another access point.

One person sustained minor injuries. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Motorcyclist hospitalized after crash on SR-76

SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital after suffering severe injuries in a crash on SR-76 in Pala on Sunday afternoon.

According to CHP, the motorcycle crashed with a sedan on SR-76 near Pala Mission Road at about 1:50 p.m.

One person was taken to Palomar Medical Center to receive treatment for major injuries.

All lanes were reopened less than an hour after the crash was reported.

The vehicles were towed from the scene.

Three-vehicle crash reported on SR-94 in La Mesa

SAN DIEGO, CA – No injuries were reported in a three-vehicle accident on State Route 94 in La Mesa on Friday afternoon, according to CHP.

A blue Kia Forte crashed with a silver Hyundai Elantra, and a black Nissan Altima on SR-94 west at the Massachusetts Avenue offramp at about 12:30 p.m.

One vehicle was blocking a lane on the offramp while the other two were able to pull to the righthand side.

All involved parties escaped injuries in the crash.

Accident blocks intersection in Spring Valley

SAN DIEGO, CA – A car accident was partially blocking a Spring Valley intersection on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident took place at the intersection of Cristobal Drive and Sweetwater Springs Boulevard at about 12:55 p.m. A silver sports car crashed with a silver Hyundai.

One vehicle was partially blocking the intersection.

It was unclear whether any one of the involved parties suffered injuries in the crash.

Driver trapped in rolled SUV after crash near Mission Bay

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was trapped in an overturned vehicle after crashing on Interstate 5 in the Mission Bay area on Friday morning.

According to CHP, a black SUV was southbound on I-5 when it blew a tire blew near Clairemont Drive at about 11:04 a.m. The vehicle hit another SUV and then overturned in the fast lane.

Passersby stopped at the scene and tried to break the window to get the driver out of the SUV but were unable to do so.

The fire truck arrived on the scene, blocking additional lanes, and firefighters were able to extricate the driver.

It is unclear if the driver was injured.
