Man loses hand after tortilla press accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – A man’s hand was amputated after an accident involving an industrial tortilla press in Logan Heights on Thursday, according to NBC Los Angeles.

The accident happened around 5:35 p.m. at La Perla market, located at 3175 National Avenue.

The victim, Odilón Cuevas, identified to be in his 60s, was taken to the hospital, where his left hand was later amputated. According to the report, his condition is now stable.

There is no information available at this time as to how Cuevas got stuck in the tortilla press.
