South Sacramento- Man From Isleton Drowned After Crashing Car Into Delta Inlet
Early Monday morning, June 10, 2019, a driver drowned while trapped in his vehicle after he crashed his car off of a Delta-area road and submerging his car in an inlet, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver was reportedly driving too fast. As such, he was unable to negotiate a turn in the roadway on West Island Brannan Road. The driver then ended up crashing his vehicle into a metal guardrail, going down a dirt embankment and submerging completely in the Sevenmile Slough. The incident occurred a few minutes after 12:30 am. The driver was identified as a 43-year old Isleton male resident. The passenger in his vehicle was identified as a 43-year old male Rio Vista resident. The passenger was able to escape from the vehicle and was not injured.
