SAN DIEGO, CA – A grey sedan crashed into the traffic attenuators on the 805 Wednesday, reports California Highway Patrol.
A single-vehicle swerved into the traffic attenuators around 9:15 on the 805 near the SR-54. Reports from other drivers described for police that the collision sent smoke and dirt everywhere and popped the lock on the trunk. The driver was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
After the driver was taken to the hospital a tow truck removed the disabled vehicle and the highway patrol initiated a break in traffic for the traffic inspector. The inspector will look at the crash cushions and judge whether they need to be replaced.
Officers are investigating the collision and what could have caused the sedan to overcorrect. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
