Hit-and-run collision reported on I-15

OCEANSIDE, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a hit-and-run collision along I-15 during Tuesday morning’s rush-hour.

According to CHP, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-15 just south of the exit to East Mission Road at about 7:30 a.m.

The driver of a big rig reported a White Ford F-150 struck his vehicle from behind before fleeing the scene of the crash.

Fortunately, the truck driver was uninjured in the crash. Motorists have been advised to proceed with caution while traveling along this portion of I-15 throughout Tuesday afternoon.

Multiple lanes closed following collision on I-15

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities were forced to block at least two lanes along I-15 following a multi-vehicle collision on I-15 Tuesday morning.

According to Caltrans, the accident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. within the southbound lanes of I-15 near Duenda Road.

No further information with regard to the cause of the crash or if any injuries were sustained as a result has been made available at this time.

The right two lanes were blocked for about a half-hour following the incident. All lanes have since been reopened.

All lanes blocked following collision on SR-78

SAN DIEGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were forced to close all westbound lanes along State Route 78 late Sunday night.

According to Caltrans, the accident occurred shortly before 10:40 a.m. along SR-78 near the exit to Sycamore Avenue.

No injuries were reported as a direct result of the crash at this time. However, all westbound lanes were closed for about four hours reopening at about 2:40 a.m.

Early-morning semi-truck collision reported along I-5

SAN DIEGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a FedEx semi truck early Thursday morning.

According to CHP, the accident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. in the Northbound lanes of I-5 near San Onofre Beach.

Troopers say the truck collided with a guardrail, nearly traveling into the oncoming lanes and causing debris to scatter across the roadway.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. However, the #1 and #2 northbound lanes are expected to be closed for several hours while repairs to the guardrail are made.

Hazmat crews respond to chemical spill following Santee collision

SANTEE, CA – Several vehicles were involved in a collision near the Mission Gorge Shopping Center that resulted in a chemical spill Wednesday afternoon.

According to NBC San Diego, the accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. along Cuyamaca Street near the intersection with SR-52.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the collision. However, a hazardous materials crew was called to the scene to clean up the spilled chemical.

Motorists and commuters on the Metropolitan Transit System faced significant delays while the incident was cleared from the roadway.

Suspected DUI collision reported in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a suspected drunk driving collision along I-15 Wednesday morning.

According to CHP, troopers responded to reports of a Chevrolet Cruze swerving in and out of lanes along the freeway before colliding with a white Tesla near the exit to Old Highway 95 shortly before 7:30 a.m.

No injuries have been reported as a direct result of the collision at this time. However, this situation is still developing.

Carlsbad man hospitalized following head-on collision

CARLSBAD, CA – One man was sent to the hospital in critical condition following a head-on collision involving two SUVs Tuesday afternoon.

According to the City News Sevice, the accident occurred at about 12:41 p.m. when a Honda CR-V collided with a Dodge Durango near the intersection of Alicante Road and Tanzanite Drive.

Police believe the 62-year-old man in the Honda was traveling at a  high rate of speed when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with the Dodge. The man in the Honda was rushed to a local hospital to be treated for critical, potentially life-threatening injuries following the crash.

The driver in the Dodge, a 44-year-old man from Oceanside, sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Driver critically injured following head-on collision on Highway 76

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was rushed to the hospital following a head-on crash along Highway 76 Sunday evening.

According to the Times of San Diego, the accident occurred at about 6:18 p.m. near the exit to Puma Valley Drive when a white-paneled van collided with a sedan.

Firefighters worked at the scene for nearly a half-hour to extract drivers from the vehicles. At least two individuals were taken to Palomar Hospital, one with a critical head injury.
