San Diego- Male Pedestrian Killed After A Passenger Train Hit Him
A male pedestrian was killed after a passenger train hit him in San Diego on Tuesday afternoon, February 18, 2020. The pedestrian ran onto the tracks close to Lindbergh Field. The southbound Amtrak train was travelling around 48 mph a few minutes before 4:15 pm, when the train’s engineer saw the male pedestrian run towards the tracks. The engineer reportedly sounded the train’s horn, but the male pedestrian did not stop. The engineer was not able to stop the train in time, thus, the train fatally hit the pedestrian close to the intersection of Washington Street and Frontage Road in San Diego’s Middletown district.
