VALLEY CENTER, CA – An early-morning crash in Valley Center may have been a result of intoxicated driving, according to Fox 5 San Diego.

One of the vehicles in the three-vehicle collision rolled over during the crash, which happened at 1:51 a.m. at the intersection of Miller Road and Misty Oak Road.

It is unclear at this time if anyone was injured in the accident.

At least one killed in I-5 Independence Day crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – An early-morning Independence Day crash on Interstate 5 (the San Diego Freeway) resulted in the death of at least one person, according to NBC San Diego.

The accident involved a motorcycle, a white sedan, and a third, unidentified vehicle. It took place around 5 a.m. near Via De La Valle South.

Authorities diverted traffic south of Del Mar Heights Road for investigation and cleanup of the accident.

There is no information available at this time regarding possible injuries.

Motorcyclist hit and injured by SUV in East County crash

JULIAN, CA (EAST COUNTY) – A male motorcyclist was injured in an accident Sunday afternoon involving an SUV in East County, according to a report by Fox 5 San Diego.

The accident happened at 1:11 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 78 and State Route 79.

The motorcyclist victim was knocked off his vehicle by a black GMC Yukon. The victim landed in the road and possibly broke his foot in the accident.

There is no information currently available regarding the status or identity of the victim.

One dead, two injured in SR-94 crash in rural East County

DULZURA, CA (SAN DIEGO COUNTY) – A head-on collision in rural East County led to one person’s death and the injury of two others Saturday morning, according to Fox 5 San Diego.

The accident occurred on State Route 94, near Summit Road, in Dulzura at 6:35 a.m.

One person was airlifted to the hospital while another was taken by ground transportation, both for the treatment of severe injuries. A third person died at the scene of the accident.

According to the report, one of the vehicles involved in the head-on collision was totaled after traveling around 50 feet down the side of an embankment.

Authorities closed the highway for several hours for the cleanup and investigation of the crash. They reopened it around 11:30 a.m, about five hours after the collision.

13 charges filed for man who drove pickup off Sunset Cliffs with his two toddlers inside

SAN DIEGO, CA – Thirteen charges were filed Friday against the man who intentionally drove a pickup truck off a cliff on June 13 while his two toddler girls were inside the vehicle.

NBC San Diego reports that 47-year-old Robert Brians has been charged with attempted murder, child abuse, kidnapping, child abduction, making criminal threats, and burglary. He is being held without bail and will be remotely arraigned on Monday at the San Diego Central Courthouse.

The incident began around 4:30 a.m. when the mother of the 2-year-old girls reported that Brians had allegedly made threats to drive off the Coronado Bridge.

Brians drove his pickup off Sunset Cliffs after being identified on Hill Street by law enforcement. The vehicle landed upside-down in the ocean, and Brians and the two children were rescued by an officer who used his service dog’s leash to climb down the cliff.

Brians and the girls were sent to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries.

At least one injured in I-8 chain-reaction crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person was taken to the hospital after a rollover crash today on Interstate 8, according to a report by Fox 5 San Diego.

The chain-reaction accident on I-8 occurred around 2:30 p.m. near the Interstate 805 interchange, and led to a vehicle rolling over and trapping at least one unnamed occupant inside.

The victim was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.

There is no information at this time as to what caused the accident.

According to the report, authorities closed multiple lanes of I-8 traffic for about 30 minutes.

Woman taken to hospital after rollover crash in Valencia Park

SAN DIEGO, CA – A woman had to be extracted from the wreckage of her vehicle after a rollover crash that happened Saturday morning in Valencia Park.

Fox 5 San Diego reports that the accident happened around 6:10 a.m. in the 6200 block of Skyline Drive when a woman driving a Ford Expedition struck a parked Toyota Sierra SUV. Her vehicle flipped over and she was trapped in the wreckage until emergency crews arrived on the scene.

The unidentified driver was taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries.

Man arrested for DUI after crashing car into tree

SAN DIEGO, CA – A young man has been taken into custody for alleged DUI after he crashed his car into a tree early this morning, according to a report by Fox 5 San Diego.

The accident happened around 4 a.m. in the 5000 block of Waring Road when the suspected drunk driver passed out while behind the wheel and drove his car into a tree.

In video footage of the incident, the driver describes himself as a “hardworking 21-year-old” and a student at California State University San Marcos.

The driver was reportedly mildly injured but refused medical treatment.

He also allegedly argued with several police officers and emergency staff.

Man arrested for DUI after hitting SFPD vehicle in illegal U-turn

SAN DIEGO, CA – A man was arrested for a DUI after he hit a San Diego Police car in an illegal U-turn early this morning, reports Fox 5 San Diego.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. on Bachman Place, near Montecito Point.

The unidentified male driver of a Chrysler 300 was pulled off the side of the road when a patrol car pulled up alongside him. The driver attempted an illegal U-turn and crashed into the police vehicle in the process, damaging both cars.

There were no reported injuries in the accident.

The driver has been taken into custody for driving while under the influence.

Man drives pickup off cliff with two 3-year-old daughters inside

POINT LOMA, CA – Three people were sent to the hospital after a man thought to be suicidal drove off a cliff with his two 3-year-old girls inside the vehicle, reports KFMB.

The accident happened around Hill Street and Cornish Drive at about 4:30 a.m.

A witness reported to police that the father had threatened to drive his Dodge pickup truck off the Coronado Bay Bridge.

An officer found the vehicle overturned in the water soon afterward, as well as the man and one of his daughters outside the Dodge. The second child was rescued from the wrecked pickup by emergency crews.

The three victims were taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries.

There is no information on the identity of the victims at this time.
