Three-vehicle accident in Valley Ctr possibly a result of alcohol

VALLEY CENTER, CA – An early-morning crash in Valley Center may have been a result of intoxicated driving, according to Fox 5 San Diego.

One of the vehicles in the three-vehicle collision rolled over during the crash, which happened at 1:51 a.m. at the intersection of Miller Road and Misty Oak Road.

It is unclear at this time if anyone was injured in the accident.

At least one killed in I-5 Independence Day crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – An early-morning Independence Day crash on Interstate 5 (the San Diego Freeway) resulted in the death of at least one person, according to NBC San Diego.

The accident involved a motorcycle, a white sedan, and a third, unidentified vehicle. It took place around 5 a.m. near Via De La Valle South.

Authorities diverted traffic south of Del Mar Heights Road for investigation and cleanup of the accident.

There is no information available at this time regarding possible injuries.

One dead, two injured in SR-94 crash in rural East County

DULZURA, CA (SAN DIEGO COUNTY) – A head-on collision in rural East County led to one person’s death and the injury of two others Saturday morning, according to Fox 5 San Diego.

The accident occurred on State Route 94, near Summit Road, in Dulzura at 6:35 a.m.

One person was airlifted to the hospital while another was taken by ground transportation, both for the treatment of severe injuries. A third person died at the scene of the accident.

According to the report, one of the vehicles involved in the head-on collision was totaled after traveling around 50 feet down the side of an embankment.

Authorities closed the highway for several hours for the cleanup and investigation of the crash. They reopened it around 11:30 a.m, about five hours after the collision.

13 charges filed for man who drove pickup off Sunset Cliffs with his two toddlers inside

SAN DIEGO, CA – Thirteen charges were filed Friday against the man who intentionally drove a pickup truck off a cliff on June 13 while his two toddler girls were inside the vehicle.

NBC San Diego reports that 47-year-old Robert Brians has been charged with attempted murder, child abuse, kidnapping, child abduction, making criminal threats, and burglary. He is being held without bail and will be remotely arraigned on Monday at the San Diego Central Courthouse.

The incident began around 4:30 a.m. when the mother of the 2-year-old girls reported that Brians had allegedly made threats to drive off the Coronado Bridge.

Brians drove his pickup off Sunset Cliffs after being identified on Hill Street by law enforcement. The vehicle landed upside-down in the ocean, and Brians and the two children were rescued by an officer who used his service dog’s leash to climb down the cliff.

Brians and the girls were sent to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries.

At least one injured in I-8 chain-reaction crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person was taken to the hospital after a rollover crash today on Interstate 8, according to a report by Fox 5 San Diego.

The chain-reaction accident on I-8 occurred around 2:30 p.m. near the Interstate 805 interchange, and led to a vehicle rolling over and trapping at least one unnamed occupant inside.

The victim was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.

There is no information at this time as to what caused the accident.

According to the report, authorities closed multiple lanes of I-8 traffic for about 30 minutes.

Man, 33, critically injured after driving his pickup into truck in Sabre Springs

SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver was critically injured in a car accident in the Sabre Springs neighborhood Thursday morning, reports the Times of San Diego.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Poway Road and Springhurst Drive when the victim crashed his pickup truck into the back of an 18-wheeler stopped at a traffic light.

The pickup was traveling at a rate of high speed when the accident occurred.

The 33-year-old male victim has not yet been identified. He has been taken to the hospital for treatment of severe internal injuries and facial wounds, as well as a broken hip.

The truck driver is not reported as injured.

Driver injured in De Luz rollover crash

DE LUZ, CA – One person was seriously injured in a rollover crash near De Luz yesterday morning, according to a report by Fox 5 San Diego 

The accident happened on Carancho Road, near De Luz Road, before 6:40 a.m.  

The victim drove off the roadway and their vehicle turned over. The accident sparked a brush fire that grew to encompass about 50 feet before firefighters extinguished it.  

The victim was helped by another motorist who arrived at the scene of the accident soon afterward, who helped drive them to a location with better cellphone reception.  

The victim was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance when an airlift was not possible due to weather restrictions. 

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

Pedestrian, 21, hit by two vehicles, suffers life-threatening injuries

SAN DIEGO, CA – A pedestrian was hit by two vehicles in the Rolando area of San Diego after falling into the street, according to a report from ABC 10 News this morning.

The accident occurred in the 4800 block of College Avenue in the No. 1 lane.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, fell into the street and was struck by a vehicle that drove away from the scene of the accident. He was also hit by another driver who remained at the crash site and phoned police. The second driver had been drinking, according to police, but was not arrested.

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

The accident is currently under investigation by San Diego authorities.
