San Diego- 2 People Injured In A Suspected DUI Crash Near The Intersection Of Pershing Drive And 26th Street
A suspected drunk driver and his passenger sustained serious injuries in a solo vehicle rollover crash Tuesday morning, June 18, 2019, in Balboa Park San Diego, CA. The crash occurred a few minutes before 12:50 am close to the intersection of Pershing Drive and 26th Street, according to San Diego police officer Robert Heims. The driver was a 31-year old man driving a 2000 Toyota pick up northbound on Pershing Drive at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the truck, causing the vehicle to overturn. Another 31-year old man was riding in the passenger seat of the truck. He was taken to the hospital so that he could be treated for serious injuries to his hand and a huge laceration on the top of his head. However, the injuries that the male passenger sustained were believed to be non-life threatening. The driver also sustained non-life threatening injuries. After being medically cleared the driver is expected to be arrested for suspicion of DUI.
