Officials looking for victims after empty crashed car found

SAN DIEGO, CA – Emergency personnel were searching the area around a car accident scene along Interstate 15 for victims on Monday morning.

According to CHP, a landscaper working along southbound I-5 found a crashed and overturned vehicle about 100 feet down the embankment near Adams Avenue around noon.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered the vehicle abandoned but the key was still inside. They were not able to determine when the accident happened.

Firefighters began searching the area surrounding the vehicle for a victim or victims that may have been ejected. An ambulance was also called to the scene as a precaution.

Thankfully, their search proved unsuccessful.

Two-car Oceanside crash seriously injures at least one

SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 5 in Oceanside on Tuesday afternoon.

According to CHP, a white van crashed with a red pickup truck in the northbound lanes near Birmingham Drive at about 3:15 p.m. The pickup truck overturned and landed on its side in the left lane.

Good Samaritans stopped and the scene and began working to extricate a person trapped inside the overturned pickup. The victim was transported to Palomar Medical Center with serious injuries. It is unclear whether anyone else was injured.

The accident scene was blocked for about 45 minutes and reopened once tow trucks removed the vehicles.

Injuries reported after El Cajon rollover into utility pole

SAN DIEGO, CA – Injuries were reported after a car overturned in a single-vehicle crash in El Cajon on Tuesday afternoon, according to CHP.

A white sedan crashed and overturned near Winter Gardens Boulevard and Gay Rio Drive at about 10 a.m. The car damaged a utility pole when it crashed, and the road was blocked.

At least one person suffered minor injuries in the accident.

The power company arrived on the scene to replace the pole once the accident scene had been cleared.

Three hospitalized after single-car rollover in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – Three people were taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 5 in Oceanside on Monday afternoon.

According to CHP, a black Cadillac Escalade had been northbound when it overturned and went down an embankment near Harbor Drive at about 1:45 p.m.

Three people were inside the crashed vehicle. All three were transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. Thankfully, all injuries were considered non-life-threatening.

Police were also investigating one individual for unconfirmed reasons after the crash.

Update: Details released about fatal Carlsbad I-5 rollover

CARLSBAD, CA – A violent rollover accident took the life of a 23-year-old driver on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad early on Sunday morning.

According to NBC News San Diego, the driver was headed north on I-5 when he lost control of his 2008 Hyundai Elantra near Tamarack Avenue at about 4:45 a.m. The vehicle overturned and slammed in the center barrier, which spun the car back into the roadway.

Authorities have concluded that the impact of the crash apparently ejected the driver, or perhaps he exited on his own. Either way, two other northbound vehicles then struck the driver and vehicle.

The death of the 23-year-old was pronounced at the scene. His identity has not been released.

The two other drivers were treated for minor injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.

Occupants missing after stolen vehicle lands in SD Bay

SAN DIEGO, CA – The whereabouts of the occupants of a stolen vehicle that ended up overturned in the San Diego Bay on Sunday remain a mystery.

According to Fox News San Diego, the accident was reported when a good Samaritan heard tires screeching and asked her father to investigate. The red sedan was overturned in the shallow water near Harbor Island at about 2 a.m.

The captain of a charter boat dove into the water to look inside the vehicle when the first team of responders arrived without a diver. However, the vehicle was empty, which a city diver later confirmed.

The only clue to what happened to the occupants was two pairs of wet footprints leading away from the scene.

Authorities also confirmed that the vehicle was stolen.

Multi-vehicle rollover accident reported near Miramar

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to CHP, a multi-vehicle rollover accident was reported on State Route 52 near Miramar on Monday morning.

A black Nissan crashed with a silver 2012 Kia Rio in the westbound SR-52 lanes near I-15 at about 7:30 a.m. The Rio rolled over on its side before landing back on its wheels.

Thankfully, no occupants in the Nissan were injured. However, an ambulance did respond to the accident and medics were assessing the occupants of the Rio for injuries.

The crash and debris from the impact were blocking part of the freeway.

CARLSBAD, CA – A multi-vehicle rollover crash claimed the life of one person in Carlsbad early this morning, according to the Times of San Diego.

The accident occurred on northbound I-5, near Tamarack Avenue, at about 4:45 a.m.

A vehicle overturned, then collided with the center median, and two other vehicles crashed and rolled over.

One person may have been ejected from their vehicle during the collision.

One person died as a result of the crash.

The cause of the accident and the identity of the victim were not immediately available.

Lanes blocked by single-car rollover near San Diego State

SAN DIEGO, CA – A single-vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 8 near San Diego State University was blocking multiple lanes on Thursday afternoon.

According to Caltrans San Diego, a black vehicle overturned in the westbound lanes close to College Avenue at about 2:30 p.m.

Several emergency vehicles, including an ambulance, arrived at the scene and blocked off the two left lanes and shoulder. Traffic slowed down and backed up across all lanes behind the crash scene.

The condition of the involved party is unknown.

One seriously injured when work vehicle rolls in Fallbrook

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was seriously injured in a workplace accident when vehicle a overturned into a canyon in Fallbrook on Wednesday morning.

According to CHP, an employee of an agricultural organization, Farm ACW, on Calle Roxanne Road was injured when a vehicle overturned on a hillside and landed down a canyon at about 11:30 a.m.

The injured party was reportedly seriously injured by breathing when the 911 call was made.

Medics rushed the scene and transported the victim to Palomar Medical Center.
