Pregnant Woman Rescued from Rollover Accident in San Diego

A pregnant woman was rescued from a rollover crash that took place on November 8 around 6:27 a.m. on the Interstate 8 onramp. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials reported that crew members rescued the female motorist who was trapped inside her rolled over sport utility vehicle (SUV) at Mission Gorge Road.

The injured motorist was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Another person was injured in the crash and was treated at the accident scene for the injuries sustained. All of us here at the Jurewitz Law Group hope and pray for the quick recovery of all injured victims involved in this terrible accident.

It is currently unknown as to the cause of this rollover accident, but possible causes can range from human error to automobile defects. Investigators will have to examine the vehicle for auto product/design defects and question any witnesses to determine the accident cause.

Rollover accidents are far too common in SUVs and trucks. Rollovers may occur due to a front or side impact with an object or other vehicle. SUVs have a higher center of gravity, which are known to also cause rollover accidents whenever a sudden turn is made. The injuries that result from these accidents can be quite severe and permanently damaging.

According to a 2009 report by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), SUVs have been involved in more rollover deaths and injuries as compared to rollover accidents involving smaller cars. According to the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 10,000 people are killed in United States due to SUV rollover accidents.
