Pedestrian killed on North 2nd Street in El Cajon
EL CAJON, CA – A pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a vehicle near Kumeyaay Highway Wednesday, reports Fox 5 San Diego.
A pedestrian was crossing North 2nd Street outside of the crosswalk at 3:30 p.m., walking between vehicles that were stopped at a traffic light. He then stepped in front of a F-150 that had a green light and was hit.
An ambulance transported the pedestrian to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. The driver of the pickup stopped and cooperated with authorities on the scene.
Officers are investigating the collision and sequence of events leading up to it. Investigators do not believe drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the crash.
