Pedestrian injured by train in Little Italy
SAN DIEGO, CA – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a passenger train in Little Italy on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Times of San Diego.
The man was struck by a Coaster Train on the tracks near West Ash Street and Kettner Boulevard at about 4:30 p.m.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries were considered to be serious but non-life-threatening.
Several streets were closed in the area while officials worked at scene and rail service was also suspended for a time.
The accident is continuing to be investigated by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
