Pedestrian in wheelchair dies after being hit by a car in El Cajon
SAN DIEGO, CA – A man in a wheelchair was crossing a street in El Cajon last night when he was struck and killed by a vehicle. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the elderly man was crossing Broadway Street near First Street on a red light at around 8:40 p.m. A white Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Broadway crashed into the victim.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the man to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the Toyota pulled over and cooperated with police. Police have confirmed that drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the collision.
