60-year-old Donald Cerone of San Diego was killed in a Pala solo-vehicle collision on August 8‚ 2011‚ around 3:30 p.m. at a curving stretch of state Route 76 (SR-76) near Pala Casino. According to the responding California Highway Patrol Officers‚ Cerone was westbound when he lost control of his car and smashed into a tree.
Cerone suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the accident scene. From the limited available information‚ it is unclear what led to the loss of control. There is a possibility that the accident may have been the result of a mechanical defect or design issue. It could have also been the result of an uneven road surface.
Regardless of the facts‚ the Cerone’s family should consult with a San Diego car accident attorney who can hire a trained private investigator to investigate how the accident occurred and to determine if there are any facts which would suggest that the accident was the cause of someone else’s negligence. The victim’s family may be entitled to obtain compensation to cover funeral and burial costs‚ loss of love‚ care and companionship‚ and other accident related damages.
Our law office offers sincere condolences to all those who knew and loved Cerone for their loss.
