One person trapped instead truck after El Cajon crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was trapped inside of a truck after a multi-vehicle accident on State Route 79 in El Cajon on Thursday morning.

According to CHP, authorities received a call about the accident on SR-79 near Springview Road at about 8:20 a.m.

One of the involved vehicles was a truck and the driver was stuck inside. Authorities rushed to the scene to extricate the victim.

An ambulance was called to the scene and medics began treatment for at least one victim who had sustained major injuries before transporting them to an area hospital.

At least one person dead after single-car El Cajon accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person is dead after a single-vehicle accident El Cajon on Wednesday afternoon, according to the CHP incident log.

The accident happened in the in the 1600 block of Palm Canyon Drive at about 2:30 p.m.

At least one person was pronounced dead after the crash.

Update: 51-year-old Vista man victim of San Marcos crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – A 51-year-old Vista man was the victim of a fatal single-vehicle accident along State Route 78 in San Marcos on Tuesday evening.

According to the Times of San Diego, the man had been driving his Dodge Charger westbound on SR-78 when he swerved off the freeway and struck a large Chevrolet van stopped at a light near Woodland Parkway at about 5 p.m. The man’s vehicle became airborne. Before hitting the ground in a parking lot at 751 Rancheros Drive, the vehicle struck two trees, a fence, and multiple parked cars.

The vehicle landed upside with the driver inside. Bystanders acted quickly to right the vehicle and extricate the victim. However, his death was pronounced at the scene.

The driver of the van, a 45-year-old man, did not sustain injuries.

The cause of the accident is unclear.

Lane blocked on I-15 after traffic accident in Pala Mesa

SAN DIEGO, CA – One lane was blocked after a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 15 in Pala Mesa just north of another, fatal, accident on Thursday.

According to CHP, a Chevrolet Equinox crashed with a Lincoln Aviator in the southbound lanes on the south side of State Route 76 at about 10:15 p.m.

The two vehicles came to rest in the center divide and fire trucks blocked off the fast lane while emergency personnel worked at the scene. An ambulance was called but, currently, injuries have not been confirmed.

Both vehicles were towed.

The accident happened just to the north of an earlier fatal accident on Thursday.

Fatal car and truck accident reported on I-15 in Bonsall

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities were on the scene of a fatal car versus tractor-trailer accident on Interstate 15 in Bonsall on Thursday morning.

According to CHP, a vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer in the southbound lanes near Old Highway 395 at about 9 a.m. The car was wedged all the way underneath the trailer and crushed by the larger vehicle.

Police have confirmed that at least one person was killed in the accident.

Authorities stated that one right lane would be closed for an extended time.

The cause of the accident is unclear.

Ambulance responds to two-car crash in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – An ambulance responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident at an intersection in El Cajon in the evening on Wednesday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a good Samaritan called 911 after hearing a traffic collision at the corner of Jamacha Road and Brabham Street at about 6:45 p.m. A BMW was left blocking Jamacha Road while the other car was turned the wrong way and ended up on the shoulder lane.

An ambulance responded to assess the involved parties for injuries.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Driver investigated for DUI after Ranch Santa Fe accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver was being investigated for driving under the influence after crashing into a boulder near the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club on Thursday night.

According to CHP, the accident happened in the 5200 block of La Ganada at about 10:45 p.m.

Thankfully, no one was injured. However, authorities were suspicious that the driver might have been impaired and began investigating for DUI.

The driver’s impairment has not yet been confirmed.

At least one injured in I-805 crash near Miramar

SAN DIEGO, CA – Minor injuries were reported after a five-vehicle accident on Interstate 805 near Miramar on Thursday morning, according to CHP.

All five vehicles involved were headed south when that accident happened near Governor Drive at about 10:15 a.m.

The cause of the accident is still unclear but may have started after a pickup truck became disabled on a freeway.

At least one person reported minor injuries from the crash.

Traffic slows around accident at Fallbrook intersection

SAN DIEGO, CA – Traffic was slowing down around a two-vehicle accident at a Fallbrook intersection on Wednesday afternoon, according to CHP.

A white Ford F-150 crashed with a grey Honda Civic on East Mission Road near Iowa Street at about 3:15 p.m.

The vehicles were able to pull over to the side of the road but traffic was still slowing down around the accident.

Thankfully, no one was injured.

Ambulance called to Chula Vista crash scene on I-805

SAN DIEGO, CA – An ambulance was needed at the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 805 in Chula Vista on Wednesday afternoon.

According to CHP, grey Ford Escape crashed with a grey sedan in the southbound lanes of I-805 near Telegraph Canyon Road at about 3:10 p.m.

The fire department was blocking one freeway lane just north of the exit for Telegraph Canyon Rd.

An ambulance was also called to the scene. One person was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
