One Marine dead, two injured, and eight more missing in amphibious vehicle accident
SAN DIEGO, CA – An amphibious assault vehicle accident yesterday evening left one Marine dead and two others injured. Eight more Marines involved in the accident are missing.
According to CBS 8 News, the fifteen Marines were involved in a training exercise at Camp Pendleton. The Marines were near San Clemente Island at 5:45 p.m. when they signaled that their vehicle was taking on water. At this time, the details surrounding the accident are unknown. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing.
