One injured after car goes down cliff in El Cajon
SAN DIEGO, CA – An accident at about 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning left one person injured after a vehicle went off a steep embankment in El Cajon.
According to the California Highway Patrol report, the accident was initially reported as a bumper in the middle of the road near La Cresta Road and Vista de Montemar. There were skid marks nearby, but the vehicle involved was not visible. After further investigation, the vehicle was discovered about 50-100 feet down an embankment that was described in the report as a “straight cliff.”
The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was injured in the accident and was trying to make his way back up the embankment when medical vehicles arrived.
A tow truck with a cable was called in an effort to extricate the vehicle as it was so far off the roadway.
