Motorcyclist leads officers on high-speed chase
SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorcyclist led officers on a high-speed chase Wednesday afternoon, reports Fox 5 San Diego.
The pursuit began around on northbound I-805 at 4:00 p.m. when officers noticed the motorcyclist was not obeying the posted speed limit. An officer tried to initiate a traffic stop but was unable to when the motorcyclist drove off at a high rate of speed.
The motorcyclist tried to lose police while weaving between cars. He exited I-5 near the Birmingham Drive exit. He threw the motorcycle into the bushes and tried to leave on foot.
Officers caught up with the motorcyclist and took them into custody. No individuals were hurt during this chase. Officers are investigating the background of the driver and what motivated the chase. This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be reported as it becomes available.
