Motorcycle accident on I-15 North in Oceanside
OCEANSIDE, CA – A motorcycle crashed on I-15 North near Rainbow Valley, reports California Highway Patrol.
A passing motorist called the highway patrol after discovering a motorcycle on the side of the road around 6:51 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the scene to discover the motorcyclist lost control of his motorcycle while driving north on the 15.
It was initially believed that the motorcyclist had hit a white sedan, but it was discovered the motorcyclist had instead lost control of the vehicle and impacted the side of the road. The driver laid his motorcycle in the dirt and waited for officers to arrive.
An ambulance arrived on the scene and the motorcyclist was transported to Palomar Hospital. The highway patrol did not need to close any lanes of the interstate.
Officers are investigating the cause of the crash and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
