Man injured by hit-and-run driver at Oceanside rest stop
SAN DIEGO, CA – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver at a rest stop along Interstate 5 in the Oceanside area on Wednesday morning.
According to CHP, the victim, a man, was walking back to his vehicle from the Aliso Creek Rest Area building at about 5 a.m. A driver was backing up and struck the pedestrian.
The driver then threw the car in gear and sped away from the scene.
The pedestrian was injured by the impact of the vehicle, but the extent of the injuries remains unclear.
A description of the hit-and-run driver’s car was not available.
