Man experiences medical episode, hits 4 bicyclists with car
CORONADO, CA – A man hit four cyclists with his car, injuring three of them, after experiencing a medical episode while behind the wheel in Coronado on Saturday, according to NBC San Diego.
The accident happened in the 800 block of First Street around 4 p.m. when the 50-year-old driver of a Toyota experienced a medical issue and lost control of the vehicle. He struck four bicyclists, three of whom received injuries that ranged from serious to minor. They were taken to a hospital in San Diego for treatment.
The identities of the victims have not been released at this time.
The driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the crash occurred.
