Man drives pickup off cliff with two 3-year-old daughters inside
POINT LOMA, CA – Three people were sent to the hospital after a man thought to be suicidal drove off a cliff with his two 3-year-old girls inside the vehicle, reports KFMB.
The accident happened around Hill Street and Cornish Drive at about 4:30 a.m.
A witness reported to police that the father had threatened to drive his Dodge pickup truck off the Coronado Bay Bridge.
An officer found the vehicle overturned in the water soon afterward, as well as the man and one of his daughters outside the Dodge. The second child was rescued from the wrecked pickup by emergency crews.
The three victims were taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries.
There is no information on the identity of the victims at this time.
