Lanes blocked while firefighters knock back car fire on I-8
SAN DIEGO, CA – Lanes were blocked on Interstate 8 while firefighters fought a car fire on Monday afternoon, according to Caltrans San Diego.

The car was headed west on I-8 when it began to catch fire near Fairmount Avenue at about 5 p.m. The driver was able to pull to the righthand side of the road.
Firefighters blocked two righthand lanes while they extinguished the fire.
There is no word on whether anyone was injured.
The area was reopened before 5:30 p.m.
