Hit-and-run driver sends one to the hospital
EL CAJON, CA – A collision on I-8 east was considered a hit-and-run when the driver of a black pickup ran away on foot, reports California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported around 5:43 p.m. A Chevy Silverado and a red Honda Civic collided with each other. After the truck impacted the other cars, the driver took off on foot.
The collision blocked one lane near the right-hand side of the roadway.
An ambulance was called to the scene and transported the driver of the Honda to the hospital. The severity of their injuries is unknown at this time.
A tow truck pulled the damaged vehicles off the road to allow traffic to pass. Officers on the scene investigated the collision and are looking into the suspect that ran away. More information will be provided on the injured driver and suspect when it becomes available.
