Publish Date: 2022/06/24

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A 31-year-old driver was arrested after a crash Thursday that left a motorcyclist and two of his own child passengers injured in Vista, reports ABC 10 News.

The collision occurred in the area of East Bobier Drive and East Vista Way at about 9:00 p.m.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the man was pulling out of a shopping center in a Toyota Camry when he struck a motorcyclist.

The rider, who was ejected from their motorcycle, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Palomar Medical Center.

Deputies said the driver had fled the scene but admitted to the event when he was located about two hours later.

Officials also learned two of the three children who were passengers in the car were taken to Rady’s Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver has since been taken into custody and booked into Vista Detention Facility. He faces multiple charges, including “hit-and-run causing injury, willful child neglect and driving without a license.”

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have contributed to the crash.
