The time has come to finally announce the winner of our 2016 Jurewitz Law Group San Diego Scholarship. Narrowing down from our top eight was no easy task, but we’ve come to a decision as to our winner.
We’re incredibly excited to announce our top finalists for the 2016 Jurewitz Law Group San Diego Scholarship. Competition was tight amongst our applicants, but after reviewing all the submitted essays, we were able to narrow it down to the top eight finalists. The major theme we asked of our applicant essays was how they plan to utilize their education to positively affect their community at large. The submissions we received have been impressive to say the least, here are our finalists:

We are so excited about our first ever national scholarship. The 2016 Jurewitz Law Group National Scholarship is our way of recognizing those high school seniors who have not only excelled in their academics, but have also selflessly given back to their communities. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the incredible 2,012 students who submitted their applications and essays. After carefully reviewing each and every one, it is our great privilege to announce our top 20 finalists:
To show our support of the National City Police Department’s (NCPD) anti-bullying campaign, Jurewitz Law Group donated $1,250 that will enable the NCPD to hand out 500 magnetic memo boards for free that will enhance Emergency Safety Awareness in our community. The boards are magnetized so they can easily be attached to a refrigerator or other steel surface that can be displayed as a constant reminder. On the front of each board, there are designated spaces to write local emergency numbers. On the back side, there are tidbits on how to deal with bullying. Read the rest »
Jurewitz Law Group is thrilled to announce that, for the second year in a row, three of our firm’s attorneys were selected for San Diego Business Journal’s Best of the Bar 2016. Over 700 area attorneys participated in the nomination and selection process for this esteemed award, voting for their peers in a wide array of practice areas. Over the past few months, the Jurewitz Law Group has been gearing up for this year’s Over the Edge for Brain Cancer charity event in San Diego. October 17, 2015 has been circled on our calendar because it’s the day we get to “Toss the Boss” and send founding attorney Ross Jurewitz rappelling over the edge of the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego (the tallest building in town!), a good 365 ft. above the sidewalk. We are thrilled to also announce that our Social Security disability attorney, Lee Jurewitz (and wife to Ross), will be joining in too! Read the rest »

On June 26, Jurewitz Law Group team members Jillian Ferrario and Elissa Croce attended the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego (CASD) and San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) Blood Drive to donate blood to the San Diego Blood Bank. They are proud to have done their part in helping save lives in a country where someone is in need of a blood transfusion every two seconds.
Personal injury attorney Jillian Ferrario, a recent and welcome addition to our firm, has been helping people throughout her life. While studying for her Juris Doctorate degree at California Western School of Law, she worked with high-risk youth, teaching them about their legal and constitutional rights. She also worked as a mediator in the North San Diego County small claims court as well as the juvenile detention center.
