Father and son killed, 19-year-old injured in crash near Poway HS
POWAY, CA – A man and his teenage son were killed while leaving the north parking lot of Poway High School on Friday night, according to the Times of San Diego.
The accident occurred in the 15000 block of Espola Road at about 7 p.m., when a Toyota sedan leaving the parking lot was T-boned by a Mercedes sedan.
A 54-year-old father, riding in the Toyota, died at the scene.
His teenage son was taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 19-year-old male, was taken to the hospital in Escondido for the treatment of non-critical wounds.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Authorities do not believe that intoxicated driving played a role in the crash.
