Erratic wrong way driver leads chase Friday
SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle was reported to be traveling the wrong way on Poway Road outside the city on Friday afternoon, according to CHP.
A gold vehicle was traveling northbound about 12:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes after driving over a yellow median cone. Calls about the erratic driver reported about the vehicle being unable to stay in his lane. The driver was drifting into oncoming traffic as well as speeding in light traffic and crossing double yellow lines in order to pass other vehicles on the two-lane road.
The driver struck a hiking trail sign and stopped in the middle of the road but then continued on as officers attempted to find the vehicle.
The driver continued onto State Route 67, traveling northbound as officials continued to pursue the vehicle.
Authorities were finally able to stop the vehicle near milepost 92.
