Encino, CA- Construction Worker Killed After Trench Collapsed
A construction worker was killed on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in Encino, CA after a trench he was working in collapsed, and buried him up to his chest. The accident occurred around 6:25 pm at a property at 5055 N. Louise Avenue. The trench was reportedly 10 to 20 feet deep. According to findings, the worker descended into the trench to do work on an underground sewer line when a failure of the trench occurred. As such, the worker ended up buried to his chest. Firefighters got to work shoring up the compromised trench to avoid further collapse and dig the injured worker out. About an hour to the rescue effort, the worker was declared dead at the scene.
