A 74-year-old pedestrian was struck and injured in a severe DUI pedestrian wreck that took place on April 12, 2012, around 2:46 p.m. at East Main Street and San Jacinto Avenue. According to sheriff’s officials, a Nissan Sentra driven by 65-year-old Christine Ann Peck hit the elderly woman.
The injured pedestrian sustained non-life threatening injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The 65-year-old driver was arrested at the scene and booked for investigation of drunken driving resulting in injury. The motorist will most likely be found to have violated California Vehicle Code Section 23152(a) which states that “It is unlawful for any person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or drug, or under the combined influence of any alcoholic beverage and drug, to drive a vehicle.”
