East Los Angeles- 1 Person Killed In A Deputy-Involved Shooting
1 person was killed and another person detained in a deputy-involved shooting during a traffic stop in East Los Angeles Thursday night, June 27, 2019. The incident occurred in the 300 block of S. Gerhart Avenue just before 11 pm. An unknown altercation took place between the man in the passenger seat of the stopped vehicle and the driver of the same vehicle. The driver reportedly shot the man in the passenger seat. The male passenger was taken to the hospital after being shot where he later died. A weapon belonging to the suspect was recovered from the shooting site. The motive of the shooting was not known. The suspected shooter has been apprehended.
