Drunk driver causes two-vehicle crash on I-215

SAN DIEGO, CA – A two-vehicle traffic collision was reported on Interstate 215 in Temecula on Wednesday night, according to CHP.

The male driver of an SUV had been drinking before he crashed into a black Honda sedan in the northbound lanes near Newport Road at about 5:15 p.m.

The driver of the SUV was reportedly falling asleep in his vehicle even while it was still blocking the slow lane of the freeway after the crash.

An ambulance was called to the scene but further details have not become available.
