A motorist and a passenger were injured in a suspected driving under the influence (DUI) crash that took place on December 8, on Thibodo Road in Vista. According to a sheriff’s deputy, the suspected drunken driver was driving a Toyota RAV-4 at a high speed when he lost control of the vehicle, rolled his SUV over, and struck several trees along the street.
The passenger suffered major injuries and was immediately rushed to Palomar Medical Center for medical examination along with the driver. Our personal injury law office prays that the injured passenger and driver recover from their injuries quickly.
Deputy Kenneth Werner said that alcohol consumption is believed to be the contributory factor behind this rollover crash.
According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), around 12,000 people were killed in DUI accidents in the year 2007. According to the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), around 203,000 motorists were arrested for the felony drunken driving in the year 2007.
Since there were serious injuries involved in this suspected DUI accident, the at-fault motorist will most likely be charged with a felony DUI.
The injured passenger should immediately seek counsel from an experienced attorney who has the expertise to investigate and handle DUI accident cases. A knowledgeable attorney would help the injured victim get the best compensation possible to help recover from hefty medical expenses.
Drunk driving poses dire consequences such as loss of driver’s license, huge fines, insurance cancellation, and prison time.
