Driver hurt after rear-ending semi on SR-163 in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was hospitalized early Sunday after crashing his car into the back of a semi-truck on California Highway 163 in San Diego, reports OnScene.TV.

The crash occurred the northbound lanes of the freeway and was first reported by OnScene.TV at 3:40 a.m. The exact location of the crash was not provided.

California Highway Patrol and first responders arrived on scene where a driver was trapped in a white Audi sedan with significant front-end damage.

Firefighters worked to extricate the victim from the wreck and then transported him to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries.

A male passenger in the Audi was not reported injured.

The accident was under investigation by CHP following the crash.
