Crestline Drunk Driver Hits Two Teens

San Bernardino DUI AccidentA 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old Riverside girl were struck and injured in a serious DUI car accident that occurred on October 15‚ 2011‚ around 9:20 p.m. on Lake Gregory Drive in Crestline. According to Highway Patrol’s Arrowhead office‚ the teens were walking across the street when they were hit by 68-year-old Raye G. Bayorgeon of Lake Arrowhead.

Bayorgeon was traveling south in a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser when she allowed the car to drift onto the asphalt shoulder just south of Olten Drive‚ where she struck the teenagers. The injured girl suffered major injuries and was immediately airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The boy was treated at the accident scene for minor injuries.

Bayorgeon was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and causing injuries to others. From the available information‚ it is clear that negligent actions of the drunk driver led to this serious pedestrian accident. Bayorgeon will most likely be found to have violated California Vehicle Code Section 23152(a) which states that “It is unlawful for any person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or drug‚ or under the combined influence of any alcoholic beverage and drug‚ to drive a vehicle.”  Under California law‚ it is illegal to drive a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher.

At this time‚ the injured victims or their family members should immediately seek counsel from an experienced San Bernardino County pedestrian accident lawyer who would educate them about their legal rights and options and would assure that the at-fault motorist is brought to justice.

The teenagers can also file a personal injury claim against the at-fault driver to obtain timely compensation to cover treatment‚ medical and hospital costs‚ and other accident related damages

Our personal injury law office sincere hopes that injuries suffered by both the pedestrians heal soon and do not prove fatal.
