Carlsbad Motorcycle Accident Causes Serious Injuries

San Diego Motorcycle AccidentA 31-year-old man and his 27-year-old female passenger suffered major injuries in a recent Carlsbad motorcycle accident. According to an ABC 10 news report, the motorcycle accident occurred near Interstate 5 on Las Flores Drive. Officials say the motorcycle went off the interstate and struck the sedan. The driver and his passenger were transported to Scripps La Jolla for treatment. The 29-year-old driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries. It is unclear what caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway.

Motorcycle riders and passengers can suffer serious injuries in the event of a crash. It’s common for motorcyclists to suffer brain trauma, bone fractures, internal injuries and spinal cord injuries. Whenever these types of accidents occur, it must be determined how the crash happened. Some accidents involve defective motorcycle parts and poorly maintained roadways while others are the direct result of driver error.

Passengers who are injured while riding a motorcycle often struggle with whether or not they should pursue financial compensation from the at-fault driver. Many fear that their claim may hurt their friend or family member who was driving the motorcycle at the time of the crash. It’s important to remember that insurance companies cover the bulk of injury claims and that injured victims are entitled to compensation for their physical and financial losses.

If you have been hurt in a motorcycle accident, do not hesitate to call the authorities, gather evidence and seek out medical attention. The copy of the police report, photos from the crash site and records of your financial losses can all prove helpful during the claim process.
