SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Department of Transportation is bringing awareness to red-light runners and the accidents they cause.

In their Twitter feed, Caltrans San Diego posted a graphic from AAA about the 31% of drivers who admit to running red lights in 2018. According to AAA, 31% of drivers in a 2018 survey admitted of running a red light in the previous 30 days.

Caltrans added that many traffic deaths and many more injuries are caused by red-light runners every year.

This week is National Stop on Red week. Stay on the safe side.
