Two paragliders injured in Blacks Beach accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – Two people were injured in a paragliding accident yesterday evening in San Diego. According to FOX 5 San Diego, the collision occurred at around 5:30 p.m. on Blacks Beach. The two paragliders crashed into one another and fell into the cliffs.

The victims had to be rescued by San Diego Lifeguards. Both sustained minor injured in the accident.

Update: 21-year-old man dead following jet ski vs. boat accident in Mission Bay

SAN DIEGO, CA – A few days ago, our team posted a story about a 21-year-old man dead after a jet ski and boat collided in Mission Bay. NBC San Diego is reporting new updates to the story. According to NBC, the 21-year-old has now been identified as Darius Kennedy from Warren, Michigan.

Kennedy was riding a jet ski at Ski Beach at around 6:30 p.m on August 8th when he was struck by a boat. Kennedy was rescued by another jet ski rider and taken to shore. Emergency responders then transported him to Scripps Memorial Hospital where he was treated for multiple traumatic injuries to his head and upper body. Kennedy passed away about four hours later.

The driver of the boat initially fled the scene but cooperated with police later that day. The boat has been impounded as evidence. It’s unclear at this time if the driver of the boat will face any charges.

21-year-old man dead following jet ski vs. boat accident in Mission Bay

SAN DIEGO, CA – A 21-year-old man is dead following an accident yesterday in Mission Bay involving a jet ski and a boat, according to an article by NBC San Diego.

The collision occurred in the Ski Beach area at about 6:30 p.m.

The victim, reportedly from outside California, and another occupant were riding on the jet ski when it collided with a boat. The other rider brought the victim back to shore for emergency aid and CPR. He was then taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The boat driver was not reported as injured and fled the scene after the crash. According to the San Diego Police Department, he gave multiple unspecified reasons as to why he could not stop to render aid.

The other jet ski passenger is not reported as having been hurt in the collision.

The identities of the victim and the boat driver have not been made available to the public at this time.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident.

Update: One Marine dead, two injured, and eight more missing in amphibious vehicle accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – Last week, we posted a story about an amphibious vehicle accident. The accident left one Marine dead, two injured, and eight missing. CBS 8 News reports that as of this morning, the eight missing individuals have been identified and are now presumed dead. Of the eight, seven individuals were Marines and one was a Navy sailor.

Military officials searched for the missing individuals for 40 hours across over 1,000 square nautical miles before calling off the search. A Marine spokesperson says that this accident is the worst amphibious vehicle accident in military history.

One Marine dead, two injured, and eight more missing in amphibious vehicle accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – An amphibious assault vehicle accident yesterday evening left one Marine dead and two others injured. Eight more Marines involved in the accident are missing.

According to CBS 8 News, the fifteen Marines were involved in a training exercise at Camp Pendleton. The Marines were near San Clemente Island at 5:45 p.m. when they signaled that their vehicle was taking on water. At this time, the details surrounding the accident are unknown. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing.

Unmanned boat crashes into sail boat

SAN DIEGO, CA – A runaway boat crashed into a sail boat on Saturday evening in Mission Bay. According to KYMA News, the two occupants lost control of a motorized, inflatable boat and were tossed into the water. The unmanned boat continued on and eventually crashed into a sail boat. The impact of the crash broke the mast off of the sail boat.

One person was injured in the accident, although the extent of their injuries are unknown at this time. Police say that they do not believe any drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.

One injured in accident with motorized inflatable boat in Mission Bay

SAN DIEGO, CA – An unmanned, motorized inflatable boat injured one person after crashing into a sailboat yesterday in Mission Bay, according to a report by Fox 5 San Diego.

The occupants of the inflatable boat lost control of the vessel and were thrown into the water around 6 p.m., officials say.

Danyelle Wolf, a three-time national boxing champion, took footage of the accident that shows the inflatable boat crashing into the sailboat.

The two occupants of the sailboat were able to jump out of the way of the inflatable boat, but one of them was taken to the hospital for an injury to the head.
