Big rig gets blown over with driver inside along I-8
SAN DIEGO, CA – A big rig was blown over on its side with the driver still at the wheel along I-8 early Thursday morning.
According to the CHP, the incident was reported at about 4:17 a.m. on I-8 near the off-ramp to Japatul Valley Road.
Police say the rig was blown over by heavy winds and tipped onto its right side. The driver remained inside until help arrived, they weren’t pinned or seriously injured as a result.
Troopers are advising motorists to proceed with extreme caution due to the high-speed winds reported in the area Thursday.
